Wild Animals in our neighborhood- There has recently been a lot of sightings of mainly coyotes and skunks in our neighborhood. If a coyote approaches you; wave your arms, shout in a low, loud tone, throw objects at the coyote while maintaining eye contact. Make yourself look as big as possible. If you are wearing a jacket, open it up like a cape. If possible, go towards active or populated areas but do not turn your back on the coyote. There are several websites you can visit for more information on this and how to deter wild animals from your home humanely. We are in the process of adding the links for you to be able to easily access the sites. Please check back for the links in a few weeks.

Brush Clearance – Begins in May

Palisades Beautiful- Did you know that Palisades Beautiful is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that plants trees to enhance the beauty and environmental health of our community? If you choose to have a tree, Palisades Beautiful will obtain the necessary city permit, notify the city Dig Alert office to check each tree site for underground cables, etc., and coordinate the planting process. You will need to deep water the tree every week for one month, and then once a month for a year. The total cost of $200 will be covered by Palisades Beautiful. The tree is free to you, but any donation (tax deductible) to their tree planting and maintenance fund would be greatly appreciated. For more information, contact them at (310) 454-6484 or email at PalisadesBeautiful@earthlink.net.
